These strings are made from sheep gut. They are rectified to bring them to a standard diameter. Because they are a natural material, they are sensitive to changes in humidity and temperature. The sound obtained with the gut string is very clear and full bodied, with good sustain and warm response.
The G, D, and A strings are plain gut, the E string is gut strings are available for orchestra tuning (GDAE) in the following four tensions/gauges Length-1.80cm

The mutton serosa (the material lining of the sheep's intestine used to make gut strings) is too delicate to process by machine. Even the twisting has to be done by hand by experienced craftsman to properly judge the correct tension. Our gut strings are from a Indian craftsman using only mutton serosa. Mutton gives a lower tension, softer feel with warm rich tones. A high twist gives better sustain and tuning stability.
